About

The 22nd Air Refueling Wing is the host unit at McConnell AFB, and part of the Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, IL. The wing’s primary mission is to provide Global Reach by conducting air refueling and airlift when and wherever needed. To do this, the wing is charged to develop and maintain the capability to conduct air-refueling operations supporting command objectives in any part of the world, in any condition or climate. This commitment also includes support for the Department of Defense in many contingency situations, from strategic force protection and strategic force mobility to humanitarian assistance.

Gate and Hours

East Gate
The East Gate is the main base entrance. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The East Gate is located on Kansas Street, off of South Rock Road.

Family Housing Gate
The Military Family Housing Gate is located off of South Rock Road on Arnold Street. The housing gate is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The alternate housing gate is located off of East 31st Street and is only used when the main housing gate
is closed.

West Gate
The West Gate is located on Salina Road. This gate is the entrance to the Kansas Air National Guard complex, is open from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. It is closed on Saturday and Sunday except for designated drill weekends. The West Gate is closed on holidays and wing down days.
