Military & Veteran Friendly Companies

Numerous companies across the United States recognize and recruit veterans entering the civilian workforce. These military-friendly companies value the leadership skills, diversity, commitment, discipline, training, and work ethic that most veterans bring with them when they leave the military. If you are looking to get out of the military but are still interested in a similar job, below are some ideas of military-friendly employment that closely support your military training and interests!

DoD Contractors

Department of Defense, or government, Contractors almost always hire veterans since the work they performed while in the service is directly aligned with the work needed by the contractor. If you leave the service with a security clearance, you are in high demand by many DoD contractors, so use that to your advantage!

Security & Law Enforcement

Since the essence of the military is to defend our country against threats, security and law enforcement agencies and companies value the training and passion that military veterans already have when they leave the service.

Federal Government

When you leave the service, you can still work for the federal government, especially since many federal positions align with military occupational fields; making for a smooth transition into a civilian job. The U.S. federal government also offers veterans’ preference points to service members who were awarded a campaign badge or expeditionary medal or were disabled.
